Troy Conner is a 22-year-old professional photographer from Rochester, New York, based in Syracuse, New York, working across social documentary, concert, and sports photography. During his time studying photojournalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, he focuses on creating social documentary work that emphasizes student cultural initiatives and creates discourse on the state of the Syracuse community. ​

Outside of his documentary work, Conner is a Co-Director of the Productions Board at University Union, where he creatively directs photo and video content for Syracuse University's concerts and live entertainment. In addition to this, Conner independently covers NASCAR races for select drivers around the United States through his freelance business.​

While attending Newhouse, Conner has been a winner and nominee of several awards, including the 2024 Hearst Photojournalism Awards (Nominee), 2025 Alexia Documentary Photography Award at the Newhouse Awards (Winner), the 2024 Community Building &​ Stewardship Award at the Alexia Fall Workshop (Winner), and the 2023 Unsung Hero Award at the Alexia Fall Workshop (Winner).​
